Jack interview.

Today we have on air one of the children of the group that survived for a long time in a desert island, his name is Jack and we will ask him some questions about his experience as one of the survivors of this procces.

So first of all Jack, what was the first problem you saw on the island at the beginning of this survival process?  In my case, I think that the main problem at the beginning of this experience was to persuade the “littluns” to work and stop playing on the beaches or trees. I remember that when I was a little boy as this littluns, I also liked to climb trees or play in the water, but on this case the situation was very different and any problem on this innocent activity probably may cause an accident or even several injuries in some of this little boys.

How did the boys organize the main survival activities?  We divided the essential requirements for survive like a group, the choir boys for example was responsible of haunting animals for eating and other groups of boys was responsible to collect pure water for drink. I think is a brilliant idea for just a group of children.

Do you think that the distribution of the essential tasks was the best method to develop the survival process? I dont think so, the activity distribution system was very inefficient in my  understanding, mainly because Ralph was a bad leader.

Why do you think that Ralph was a bad leader?  Because he was very bossy, maybe with good intentions but for me and my friends, the authority of Ralph was very annoying.

What did you learn about this experience?
I think the most important lesson that I learned through this experience is to not discriminate people just by his physical aspects, Piggy was a really nice person and I’m really sorry if someday I bother or discriminate him, now on days I’m sure that Piggy is one of the best person I ever meet.

Do you considerate Ralph as your enemy? I think that Ralph, like me and the rest of the children group was just a victim of the international conflicts. Maybe on the moment I consider Ralph as my enemy but I think that is moment of apologize and just say Sorry.

Finally, what do you think is the most important event in your experience in the island?  Clearly, the day that we were rescued by the navy. Is a day that i will never forget because i remember that i realized that the violence was at a critical level, in fact, i was very sad for my personal conduct.

I think this interview is really important, someday this program and this testimony will be a real piece of British history and Jack, a National Hero. Thank you Jack for coming to our program.
